Neck Pain

Millions of people are affected by chronic neck pain, whiplash injury, upper back pain, and pain at the base of the neck. These people often go from doctor to doctor seeking relief from this pain but are not relieved. Dr. Gorski has found a cause for this pain, and he successfully treats patients with this chronic neck pain. Dr. Gorski has published his findings in The Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery, the most prestigious scientific Journal for orthopedic surgeons. His results show that many people have neck pain that is caused by a shoulder condition called shoulder impingement. Most people with this condition have pain in the shoulder, but some people have neck pain instead of shoulder pain. This condition is also called chronic shoulder bursitis, tendonitis, or a rotator cuff sprain. What is new about this study is recognizing that the shoulder and neck anatomy may overlap causing referred pain from the shoulder to the neck. Dr. Gorski calls this condition The Referred Shoulder Impingement Syndrome (RSIS). He believes that RSIS affects millions of people every year. These patients are often misdiagnosed, and they continue to suffer despite undergoing treatment of the neck, which is ineffective and unnecessary. He recently published an article on this "New pain 'pain in the neck'" in the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons Bulletin.

Dr. Gorski is nationally recognized as an expert in neck and upper back pain. He has lectured at national orthopedic conferences and has successfully treated patients who have been told that their pain was untreatable. His careful examination technique along with a routine x-ray can reliably confirm the diagnosis of Referred Shoulder Impingement Syndrome which causes neck pain. Once the diagnosis is made, the neck pain is relieved by using standard non surgical treatments.

Discovering this new syndrome and its resulting non surgical treatment for chronic neck pain has been very exciting for Dr. Gorski. He is now able to help many people who were told that their pain was untreatable. Call for a consultation if you have neck, upper back or whiplash pain.
